Development Approval Process
Step 1: Getting a qoute
The first step in any project is obtaining a quotation. Soundscape provide qoutations free of charge, typically within one to two days. The quotation will include a scope of work, typical timeframe and the associated cost.
To request a quotation for your project, simply email us your project address, an overview of the project, any plan drawings or supporting documentation and your best contact details to contact@soundscape.com.au.
Step 2: Site Inspection and Noise Logging
Once you have accepted the quotation, the next step for most project is to organise a site inspection. An acoustic consultant will attend the projects site and take note of the surrounding environment, noise sources, and relevant information. If long term noise logging is required, it will begin at this point and run for seven to ten days - depending on weather and the project requirements.
Step 3: Noise Assessment
The next stage is to assess your project to ensure compliance with the relevent local, state and federal criteria. Soundscape use modern noise modelling software for accurate predictions. If your project complies, Soundscape will finalise the reporting. In instances where non-compliance is identified, we will work with you to develop economic and practical solutions to get your project approved.
Step 4: Reporting
Soundscape produce high quality reports meeting the requirements of the AAAC, Local councils, EPA and other certifying authorities. We have spent years refining our report structure to be clear and concise, so reviewers can have confidence in the outcomes and provide stamped approval.
Step 5: On-going support
We provide on-going support for our completed work. You will always have direct communication with the consultant working on your project. Our cost structure includes answering your questions and providing a round of minor updates to accomodate adjustments to your project after report completion.
